Tea and Cookies
25th-Jul-2010 07:56 pm
I have a small list of teas and sweets recipes that are enjoyed by people for pain-relieving benefits.
I'm still finding new teas and recipes myself, so I'm going to cross-post this to my journal to edit and add to as I go. ^_^

Note: I'm not trying to promote sales by referencing brands or companies. Likewise, I won't put a brand or company of something on my list if I'm not satisfied with it myself. No scams or phony potions for my lovely little loli_able-chans. >:3

Green Mint tea
This is good for anxiety disorders, loli's who can't take sinus meds, and those of you who suffer from headaches. This is the kind I drink. The tea bags come in lovely little foil wrappers that smell wonderful when you tear them open.

Ginger tea
This is good for IBS, along with other disabilities that effect digestion. It's relatively hard to find, but I have this brand and it has a very yummy, rich flavor.

Black tea
Among countless other things, this is good for abdominal pain because of the amount of caffeine.

Ginger Cookies
This is good for IBS, along with other disabilities that effect digestion. I love getting these (especially when they're shaped like ginger bread men!) because they remind me of Christmas. But watch out for more sugary cookies that are only shaped like ginger men- for example little debie's gingerbread cookies- that actually have no to very little ginger at all. Check the ingredients label, and if all else fails you can usually taste the difference.

Microwave Chocolate 'cup' Cake
This recipe is not mine good for pre-diabetic and diabetic loli-chans because it's easily altered with stevia instead of sugar, and you can make it in small servings. I make mine with extra sweetener/sugar though, or else it tends to taste a little too bread-like and less cake-ish.

I have had great success helping manage pain/help me sleep with Catnip tea.

yup. you read that right. Catnip tea xD

That's the kind I get, you can buy it at organic food stores and vitamin shoppes. It is very calming and helps my anxiety as well. It is also a metabolism booster.

It does have a very "masculine" flavor some people may not like. But with honey or agave syrup it is fantastic. I really like it.

It is my fave.

This is awesome, thank you for posting.
Green tea is known to help with inflammation, which in turn can help relieve pain.
Plus it's soothing, delicious, and not bad for you <3

I use mint tea for nausea as well. It's wonderful. I drink lots of green tea each day for my fibro, and I have found that it makes a difference.
